The Institute hires primarily professional fish and wildlife scientists, statisticians and science technicians. However, to support scientific efforts, we also utilize the expertise of clerical, administrative and maintenance staff. OPS employment is intended to be temporary. Although it does not provide paid leave, retirement or insurance benefits, OPS are covered by worker’s compensation and are eligible to participate in the state’s Tax Deferred Compensation Program.
